In order to cast your vote, you have to make sure you’re registered. Here are the registration deadlines for Illinois and Indiana:

If you have an Illinois driver's license or state ID and would like to register by mail, you have until Tuesday, October 6 to mail your application to your county clerk’s office. To download a voter registration form, visit https://ova.elections.il.gov.

If you have an Illinois driver's license or state ID, you may register online until Sunday, October 18 through the Illinois State Board of Elections. To register, please visit https://ova.elections.il.gov.

If you have an Indiana driver’s license or state ID, you may register online until Monday, October 5. To register online, validate your voter registration status, find your polling place location, find information about provisional ballot status and county contact information, and determine “Who's on My Ballot?” for an upcoming election, please visit https://indianavoters.in.gov
