Five Tips to Survive an Amusement Park

All week long we have been giving away tickets to Six Flags Great America! 'The Jam' crew has been breaking down all of the latest attractions, food, and family activities at the park. Krista Green even gave all the details on the Six Flags app that will help you plan your visit and check wait times on rides. You can see that in the video below!

Taking on an amusement park can be a major feat, so here are five tips to get you through the day. Trust us it will make your life much easier.

1

Map your trip out in advance

Pick three must-do rides or attractions, map them out, and get those out of the way first. You want to spend your time at the park having fun!

2

Be an early bird

The early bird definitely gets the worm when it comes to amusement parks. Getting ahead of the afternoon crowd will ensure you the best parking spot and shorter wait times.

3

Balance your indoor vs. outdoor activities

Walking around in the heat for hours easily gets tiring. There are plenty of shows, arcades, and activites that are indoors. Fit a few of these activities in between the rollercoaster rides to give everyone a break.

4

Pack a small drawstring book bag

You only want to bring the essentials with you to an amusement park. Get a small drawstring book bag with a name tag (you do not want to grab the wrong bag). Pack hand wipes, a ziploc bag (to keep items dry), sunscreen, wallet, phone, and keys.

5

Use sun protection

This one is simple, but everyone forgets. Make sure you apply sunscreen before you leave home. Also, pack a mini spray sunscreen in your bag for re-application.
