More Than 250 People Killed In Multiple Coordinated Bombings in Sri Lanka

The world is in mourning after Sri Lanka was attacked with coordinated bombings in churches and high-end hotels.

The eight coordinated suicide bombs mostly detonated in minority Christian communities.

"I entrust to the Lord those who have tragically been lost and I pray for the wounded and all those who suffer because of this dramatic event,” said Pope Francis.

A memo dated April 11th, signed by Sri Lanka's deputy inspector general of police, warned intelligence officers about a possible attack.

"It's a regrettably not unfamiliar story in the aftermath of terrorist incidents where there has been pieces of information, pieces of intelligence that haven't necessarily been stitched together the way they needed to be,” said Levi West, director of terrorism studies.

The memo included a request for more security.

This attack brought an end to a decade of peace for the country after its 25 year Civil War ended in 2009.

In the U.S. President Donald Trump tweeted his condolences saying, "We stand ready to help!"
