Superintendent Eddie Johnson says the plans to curb violence for the upcoming summer months are multifaceted. Johnson says the summer safety plan includes a new unit to focus on the CTA to help lessen the problem of teens using social media to cause trouble downtown. Earlier this month, there was chaos downtown when hundreds of teens ran through the streets and fights broke out. Police plan to send out special mobile and saturation teams in the entertainment districts like the Mag Mile.Officers will also be able to use data and intelligence to predict and intercept gun violence.
