The city of Chicago is electing a new mayor in less than two weeks, but before Toni Preckwinkle and Lori Lightfoot go head to head at the polls they’re debating once again. Election day, April 2nd is just days away and the team here at The Jam has the latest election coverage.

For those interested in getting a head start to the ballot box, early voting is already underway. With locations all around Chicago, the city is working to provide every Chicagoan a convenient and efficient early voting experience.

On election day, April 2, assigned polling places are open across the city from 6 a.m.-7 p.m.

Early voting: Loop Super Site (175 W. Washington Ave.)

  • March 15 - 24: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Sunday
  • March 25 - March 29: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. daily
  • March 30: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • March 31: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • April 2: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m

Early Voting: 50 Ward Sites

  • March 18 - March 23: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Saturday
  • March 24: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • March 25 - March 29: 9 a.m. - 7 p.m. Monday - Friday
  • March 30: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • March 31: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
  • April 1: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (Note: Seven “permanent sites” will remain open until 7 p.m.)

Early Voting: Universities – Chicago State University, the University of Illinois at Chicago and Northeastern Illinois University

  • March 27 - 29: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Wednesday - Friday
