Supernatural ended last season on a rather dramatic and apocalyptic note.

After Sam and Dean defied Chuck's plan to kill Jack, Chuck did the deed himself, sending Jack to the middle and leaving the Winchester brothers and Cas surrounded by a hoard of undead zombies.

Yikes!

In short, things do not look good for our heroes.

The good news is that Alexander Calvert, who plays Jack, has hinted that his character will be back in some way this season. So maybe not all hope is lost for the rest of the crew.

But as the rest of the team waits for Jack's return they will have their hands full with monsters new and old as the show dips into its past fourteen seasons of nostalgia in one last demon crushing ride to the finish line.
