Humboldt Park Alligator Captured
After first appearing in Humboldt Park lagoon last week, Chicago's newest exotic animal addition has captured the attention of the world all while eluding the authorities....until today.
Illinois Conservation Police and Animal Care and Control have taken the alligator, dubbed Chance the Snapper by a Twitter poll, into custody safely and humanely. The alligator has been a viral sensation online since its first appearance on July 9th, even receiving a shoutout from its namesake, Chicago's own Chance the Rapper.

Chance the Snapper ended his media run by stealing the show at his own post-capture press conference when the male alligator showed up wearing a bowtie.

While we don't know what is next for Chance the Snapper just yet we'll always have our fond memories of Humboldt Park's unwanted visitor turned friend.
