Eat, Shop & Chill: Where to hang out in Roscoe Village

Every day on 'The Jam,' Jon Hansen hits the streets to explore neighborhoods, local eats, and just chat with everyday Chicagoans! Each neighborhood has its own distinct personality and unique offerings. We explored the vibrant Roscoe Village neighborhood tucked away on the city’s north side. Roscoe Village was originally developed into an amusement park and during that time small businesses and taverns sprang up. Although you will not be riding a rollercoaster in Roscoe Village, there is still plenty to explore. Check out this list of three places you must hit up when visiting Roscoe Village.

EAT

Commonwealth Tavern is a great place to kick back, grab a drink, and watch a Cubs game. At Commonwealth Tavern, you can have great food and drinks in a neighborhood bar atmosphere. From offering Sunday brunch to hosting award show watch parties, Commonwealth Tavern has it all.

SHOP

Whether you’re into 50’s retro furniture or art deco jewelry, you will be able to find it at The Lazy Dog Antique Store. You can’t visit Roscoe Village without taking a stroll through this shop. You can make a day out of hunting for treasures at The Lazy Dog.

CHILL

After shopping and eating, get a good laugh at the Chicago Underground Comedy. From traditional stand-up to sketch comedy, there are a wide variety of acts that come to Chicago Underground Comedy.

We love finding new places and meeting new people on The Jam, coming in July we will be exploring more of the great neighborhoods all over the Chicagoland area.   Watch and see where we will be next!
