End-of-Summer Boozy BBQ Sauce Recipe
Blue Plate Catering joins You & Me to show us a good old Kentucky Red Eye Barbecue Sauce!
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup Koval whiskey
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/3 cup oil
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon dried onion flakes
- 1 dash salt and pepper
In a large pot melt the brown sugar until it dissolves and slightly bubbles.
Add whiskey and cook for 3 minutes.
Combine the above ingredients over medium heat.
Be sure to stir really well to incorporate all the dried spices.
Simmer for 30 minutes and stir often.
