In this episode, our select panel of Chicago journalists returns to discuss several issues making headlines locally including Chicago’s new food truck ordinance and its potential impact on local businesses and entrepreneurs, discrepancies between the amount of federal funding going towards local public housing and the actual number of occupied residences highlighting fiscal inefficiencies within the CHA, the new definition of “gentrification” in Chicago neighborhoods and how ethnically homogenous communities can benefit from an influx of more diverse residents and businesses, and Chicago’s implementation of 100 miles of bike lanes on city streets in an effort to make alternative modalities of transportation more attractive to city dwellers.
