Sorry for the continued frustration... we've gone through a string of unfortunate technical issues that have kept the PuppyCam down for a very long time. We've had DSL outages, and we've even had puppies destroying equipment! We hope to have the PuppyCam back up soon, and we'll make lots of happy noise when we do. Thanks so much for your patience - we have every intention of bringing you your moment of Zen!

Mabel is a sweet and loving 7 year old Pit bull mix who came to CCR from Chicago's Animal Care and Control with her two pups (Mike and Mimi). From the many scars all over her body, it seems that Mabel has had a very rough past and would love to find her forever home where she can cuddle up and just relax. She loves to roll over for belly rubs and would do best in a home where she is the only dog.

Trish, thank you for you concern, but Dana gets plenty of attention as well. In fact, if you were watching earlier in the day, she got a full massage while the puppies slept. In the few minutes that you were watching, Dana was sleeping, taking a much needed break from the pups. Dana is not shy at all about attention, and quite readily lets us know when she wants to cuddle too.

Mama looks as though she has her paws full - feeding all six and trying to find a quiet corner by herself once in a while. Hi Everyone! Roy and Ricky have both been adopted, and the rest of the 'R' pups should all be in their new homes very soon. So now, please welcome our newest bunch, the Disney Litter! They are 4-5 week old, Lab/Shepherd mixes. They are Mickey (M, yellow coat), Pluto (M, yellow coat), Donald (M, fluffy brown coat w/ black muzzle), Daisy (F, shorter brown coat w/ black muzzle), Goofy (M, smokey brown coat w/ black muzzle) and Clarabelle (F, black coat)! Franklin has been adopted, Eleanor is in foster care, Theodore is at the shelter, and we've got new guys! Meet the newest CCRF litter to grace the puppy room: the Roosevelts! They are 2 month old Heinz 57s! The black and white male is Theodore, the all brown male is Franklin, the black, white and brown female is Alice, and the all black female is Eleanor. They're very playful pups, so we hope you enjoy! :)

Some viewers and I are obviously watching at different times. I am seeing the CCRF staff sitting on the floor in the puppy room with Mandy multiple times throughout the day, petting her, loving her and giving her kisses on the head. Mandy is one of many dogs at the shelter, all of them looking for someone to play while they wait for a forever home. They are especially lucky when someone comes in to take them for a walk. How about it Chicago?

i love these dogs and i found out about them at the beginning of the year and i couldn't stop looking at them and i showed all my friends and they fell in love with them , too. and so did my MOM!!!!!!!! =}

Belle, the last of our Bichon mix pups went to her forever home tonight. Until we get a new litter of puppies in one of our adult dogs, Mandy, a 1.5 year old Border Collie mix, will get some time to stretch her legs in the puppy room!

Hi BessA-- Maggie is just a very curious girl and wants you to know that she's there! A lot of dogs pass by the puppy room on their way to the backyard, as do a lot of new people (volunteers, potential adopters, etc), so she definitely has a lot to be curious about! It's not that she's purposefully not taking care of the pups-- she just gets a bit distracted sometimes. :) The pups are still being fed by her, but they are also being weaned onto wet food, so you don't need to worry that they'll starve. :) Thank you for thinking about the pups!

MaggieSue seems to be trying to get the staff's attention. I'm concerned that she's not feeding the pups. they tried to be suckled but she pushed them away a couple times. I don't want the lil pups to starve! Please take MaggieSue outside and let her do her business so she can come back and take care of the pups.

Please welcome our newest arrivals to the Puppy Cam! Maggie Sue, our latest mother, is a 1.5 year old Boxer/Pit Bull mix. After having nursed her own litter of six puppies, Maggie is now acting as a surrogate mother to Robin Hood (white & tan, smallest of the bunch), Maid Marian (white & gray, middle-sized) & Little John (white & dark gray, largest of the bunch), our five week old Maltese/Poodle mix puppies! Hi Sylvia-- Moneypenny was getting some close-up time with the camera because her adopters, who are patiently waiting to take her home, wanted a closer view. Both Vesper and Moneypenny have been struggling with bad colds, so their adoptions are being postponed while they're getting better. We all adore both of the girls, so it wasn't preferential treatment. We were just having Money say hi to her new family, since they have to wait a bit longer before she can go home. :)

I would like to know why a young lady (seemed to be a chicago canine employee or volunteer)came into the spot and gave attention only to Moneypenny. The young lady was on the phone, but I think that she could have given Jinx at least a pat on the head. Moneypenny has been my favorite of the litter since day one, but these two are like my own and I never would show one affection or attention without giving it to the other. Why did that happen? I know I don't know everything that goes on, but I am just curious to know.

Yeaaaa!! for MoneyPenny (she was my favorite). Even with a cold and by herself, she was still full of life. Out of all the pups that I have viewed, this litter was the most memorable and my favorite. Keep up the good work Chicago Canine rescue.

As a volunteer for the shelter I can say the reason Foster does not have a buddy is because he and his litter mates are too old to be together all the time without getting into tifts. Secondly, the staff does go into the puppy area, however they don't have the luxury of staying in there for long periods of time, as there are usually upwards of thirty other dogs that need their attention. The staff work extremely hard with their dogs currently at the shelter.

Gemini, the pup with the hip issues, went to a wonderful home on Wednesday the 12th! As we predicted, she was just not used to using her back legs (probably from being crated too much at the shelter she was at previously), but she made tremendous strides in the few days she was in the puppy room, and will do even better in her new forever home! The remaining Street Pups (Foster, Paulina), will be cycling through the puppy room for playtime. They are still available for adoption! We should have a new litter of pups soon!

We have a new pup premiering in the puppy room! Gemini is a 3 month old Shepherd mix. She is a very playful but shy girl with some hip problems, so we're giving her some time to stretch her legs in the puppy room. :)

Clark was adopted this week, and Addison goes home tomorrow! For now on, you'll only see two pups because we're switching up playgroups--they're a little too old to all be together all the time. :) If for some reason you tune in and no one's in there, it's because they're either playing in the back yard (we're working on potty training, and they're doing wonderfully!) or on a walk!
