There are plans for a gospel music museum in Chicago

Chicago is slated to be the site for the first national gospel museum. According to Crain's Chicago Business, The National Museum of Gospel Music is expected to be a 45,000-square-foot structure hosting exhibitions, an auditorium, a library, and an event space.

This $37.2 million project will be housed inside the historic Pilgrim Baptist Church, located at 3301 S. Indiana Avenue, in the Bronzeville neighborhood. Gospel music was born on the South Side of Chicago, and this new project is sure to celebrate the history of the genre.
