Beats supplied, plus pride at Spring Awakening

The three-day music festival returned to Chicago and brought together nearly 100,000 music fans to dance it out all weekend at Spring Awakening. Attendees followed the beats from five stages spread across Addams/Medill Park and festival-goers got a bang for their buck seeing a multitude of top acts including Tiësto, Steve Aoki and Chicago-favorite, Kaskade.

Tiësto filled his set to the brim with his hits. The DJ known as the “Godfather of EDM” spun top-charting classics like “Red Lights” and the newly released “Jackie Chan” featuring Post Malone, as well as a tribute to remember electronic dance music pioneer, Avicii. Kaskade closed the festival Sunday night with plenty of shout outs to his hometown and the home of house music, Chicago. To say fans went wild at each Chi-callout is an understatement.

For a weekend smack dab in the middle of Pride Month, it couldn’t be better timing for two lucky men who had help from DJ Markus Shulz to pull off a proposal! The fans, Sam and Dusty, are now engaged. Congrats to the soon-to-be husband and husband!
