What happened to FBT, WCIU-TV 26.6?

Beginning December 1, FBT, WCIU-TV 26.6 which had been the foreign language digital stream, will no longer be available. Weigel Broadcasting Co. is continuing conversations regarding other distribution options with the few independent producers of the foreign language productions seen on FBT.

In place of FBT, a simulcast of WCIU, The U will be seen on 26.6, Xfinity TV 223, RCN 35 and WOW 170. On Wednesday, December 15, for viewers watching with an antenna, the signal will move from 26.6 to 26.2, the future home of The U Too.

A special programming note, in December, Shepherd's Chapel and the December 14th DePaul men's basketball games will be seen on 26.6. On December 15, these programs will move (along with the whole digital channel) from 26.6 to 26.2, the future home of The U Too. The official launch date of The U Too is January 5, 2011.

Why don't DIRECTV and Dish Network carry Me-Too?

We want to have Me-Too on both satellite services as much as you do! We have asked both Dish Network and DIRECTV to carry Me-Too, and have offered it to them at no charge. Perhaps hearing from you, their customers will make a difference.

Please click on the appropriate link below to contact your satellite provider and request "carriage of station WMEU (the station call letters) from Chicago" in your message. Thank you.

I want to get my dog on WCIU, The U!

We shoot new dog ID's on a monthly basis. While there is a waiting list, we'll be glad to add your dog's name as a future star on WCIU. To add your dog to our waiting list, click here.

Why are the Cubs/Sox games not available or blacked out in my area?

Unfortunately, due to restrictions prescribed by Major League Baseball, these games are only available in the Chicagoland local market. MLB, not The U, determines what games air on which stations. We cannot distribute them, per MLB, beyond our broadcast market. You should contact the MLB about finding a station in your area to carry the games. You can reach them at 212-931-7777.
