Let’s do some quick feedback from your messages at svengoolie@wciu.com…
First of all, thanks for all the kind words on “the Wolf Man” last Saturday night- it seems our parody of Cher’s “Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves”- “ Gypsies, Cramps and Fleas”- was a big favorite with the many viewers who watched! FYI- the Wolf Man will be returning in some upcoming flicks- including at least three where he shares billing with the Frankenstein Monster!
“Borowy26” sent us some great info on Leigh Snowden’s husband (Leigh was the Creature’s love interest in “the Creature Walks Among Us.”) He was accordion ace and sometimes actor Dick Contino, who “played the accordion like Elvis shook his pelvis” and starred in a wacky flick titled “Daddy-o”- where he got mixed up with American International Pics villain Bruno Ve Soto, in a drug smuggling plot- and sang a show stopping tune “Rock Candy Baby!” He made a thousand bucks for this role- hopefully, wifey got more for playing footsie with the Gill Man.
Bill mentions there’s a Beggar’s Pizza in Crown Point IN that has a bunch of scenes of classic Chicago TV on its wall- and says it includes me! Has anybody seen it- or, better yet, got a picture of it?
Okay, a quick monster pic for today- how about Joan Crawford’s 1964 William Castle flick “Strait-jacket!” Miss Joan is a “reformed” axe murderess, out of the sanitarium, and trying to start life anew with her daughter-but- when people start losing their heads- is she back to her old ways?!
A typical Castle creepshow, and worth your time, even though Joan does her usual scenery-chewing!
