Last warning- you can come out and see me today- 1-3 pm- at O’Connor Quality Hyundai, 8900 S. Cicero Avenue in Oak Lawn! How cool was it that the WGN Morning News actually showed the newspaper ad and gave us an additional plug yesterday?! See you on the South Side! …and, of course, I’ll see you tonight at 9 pm- when we give you a little sneak peek at “Franken-Fall” (more about that tomorrow) with a visit from the Monster in the jam-packed horror house party- “House of Dracula!” A kindly doctor who is working on some amazing processes to help people with unusual afflictions finds that one of his patients has a strange blood disorder- that patient being- Dracula! Drac is played by John Carradine this time around- and, while the good doctor is helping the Count- none other than Larry Talbot- Lon Chaney Jr.- drops by the clinic, hoping to get some help with HIS condition- that being, when the moon is full- he becomes- the Wolf Man! A little later, the almost inert body of the Frankenstein Monster is found underground- while the good doctor starts finding himself turning to the dark side, thanks to the meddling machinations of Dracula! Add in a pretty hunchbacked nurse, a damsel in distress, and the usual torch-wielding villagers- and you’ve got a full house, with the “House of Dracula!”

For our Halloween monstrous movie pick today- let’s turn to a previous house (which will show up on the Sven show soon)- “House of Frankenstein!” Boris Karloff returns to the series after a long absence, as a mad doctor out to revive the Monster- and accidentally reviving Dracula (Carradine again) and running into- Larry Talbot- the Wolf Man! There’s a hunchbacked assistant (male, this time)- but this isn’t déjà vu- this is actually the movie that came BEFORE “House of Dracula” in the Universal series. We’re showing Drac’s house first, because Universal gave it to us when we ran the Dracula series. Either way, it’s another fine “House” you’ll want to inspect…
