Sven Early Warning System- for those of you who catch Sven at 1 am on our sister station, the beloved Me-TV- tomorrow night, the show will start a half-hour earlier- at 12:30 am- to accommodate a longer movie which follows it. Please spread the word to other Me-TV Sven fans.
From early to late- a late congratulations to our friend and head Sven cameraguy Malcolm- he and his lovely wife Teresa have welcomed a new addition- Malcolm II ! No doubt Malcolm has already gotten him started with a mini-cam –shaped rattle, and a junior-sized “lightning stick”- his patented device to adjust the lighting in our dungeon studio!
And, again- let me remind you that I will be making my annual appearance at Six Flags Great America Fright Fest tomorrow afternoon- I’ll be in their latest monstrous parade, “Freak” starting around 2 pm- then, I’ll head to Hometown Square to sign autographs and pose for pictures with you until 4 pm.
PLEASE get in line early, so you’ll be guaranteed a chance to meet me (I know, you’ll be tempted to be elsewhere in the park, enjoying all the frightful fun…)
Let’s get to our monstrous movie pick for today- it’s not “DAWN of the Dead”- it’s “SHAUN of the Dead!” This is a 2004 British film, in which a young man leads an unambitious life stuck in mediocrity – at a job where no one respects him, with a girlfriend who’s fed up with their relationship, and constant problems with his step-father. Things change when the dead start rising from their graves, hungry for human flesh- and it’s up to him and his best pal to battle the zombies and save those he cares about! It’s got its gore, but it’s also very funny- and will make you think differently when you see your next George Romero flick! Though not for everyone, I think most Sven fans – and fans of shows like the original British “Office” and such-will appreciate the humor and winks at popular culture.
Come back here tomorrow for a preview of what we’ll be running on Sven (a half hour earlier on Me-TV- don’t say I didn’t warn you!)
